Sketch challenges are my jam! When I stumbled upon this week’s Freshly Made Sketches challenge, I knew I had to join in on the fun. I find that having a set of constraints actually helps me so much in my design process. Sometimes I even take a screenshot on my phone and try out some ideas by sketching on the sketch. (Sounds silly, but you get the idea) Let’s dive into the challenge…
Leaf Background: I initially considered patterned papers, but decided on a Concord and 9th background stamp I’d been itching to use. I stamped the image on two contrasting cardstock colors and added depth by mounting them on foam sheets.
Splatter Background: Anyone else struggle with this? I surely do and I hate the mess. I found this splatter stamp1 and now life is good!
Flowers: I decided to do my favorite “black and white with a pop of color” so I used white cardstock for the background of the flowers and cut the top layer out of black. I added a little bling to the flower centers and I am happy with how it turned out.
TIP: I also used the flower background die to cut the shape out of a foam sheet for extra dimension
