SWINGING SPIDERS CARD

September 29, 2024

Welcome, friends! Today I am sharing a cute little halloween card with swinging spiders. It was easy to do and you’ll laugh when you read what I used for the web string.

I started with the background and used the Waffle Flower Full Moon Stencil. Using my Tiny Blending Tools I blended yellow around the edge to give the moon a glow then used Lost Shadow Distress Oxide for each of the stencils to give the moon subtle shadows. The sky is a blend of Faded Jeans and Black Distress Oxide.

Next, I stamped the sentiment and bats from the Simon Says Stamp Halloween Friends. I cut the spiders out of black cardstock using the Waffle Flower Cute Spiders Dies.

I wanted the spiders to be hanging from something but didn’t have a tree branch the size I wanted so I sketched out the branch with pencil on black cardstock and cut it using my X-acto knife.

I trimmed my background to 4.5″ x 6.5″ and adhered it to my Ohuhu A7 5″ x 7″ heavyweight folded card.

It was about this time I realized I didn’t have any string. I started looking around my house then 💡 thought… dental floss! Yup, you read that right. It was thicker than I wanted but I was able to separate it into the perfect sized piece.

I layed out my branch and spiders on my card, cut the floss to the length I wanted and glued everything down.

Thanks for reading. I hope you’ll give this simple technique a try.

Just over here trying to spread a little sunshine one card at a time. I'm fueled by Dr. Pepper, sarcasm and especially puns. I hope my cards bring others even a portion of the joy that I feel creating them. #cre8yoursunshine☀️
