COPICS ON COLORED CARDSTOCK

Copic markers on colored cardstock? Mind. Blown. I’m kicking myself for not trying it sooner! The way the ink interacts with the cardstock is pure magic. It saves time and guarantees a perfect match if you plan to use the cardstock on other areas of your card.

I assume the quality of your cardstock probably matters but I typically use Concord & 9th because the quality is amazing.

Has everyone been doing this? Am I just late to the party? I love a monochromatic look so you will definitely be seeing more of this from me.

Card Details

Here’s a step-by-step guide to creating this card:

1. Background: I used a deckled frame die, masked off the edges, and blended 2 Distress Oxides.

A blue cardstock sheet secured with yellow tape on a white surface, ready for crafting.

2. Water: The wavy background and water spray were heat embossed.

3. Whale: I stamped the whale on colored cardstock then added some depth using 3 shades of Copic markers. I fussy cut the whale and placed him on top of the frame.

4. Frame: The frame is actually 4 layers of white cardstock cut using a rectangular die set and glued together.

Just over here trying to spread a little sunshine one card at a time. I'm fueled by Dr. Pepper, sarcasm and especially puns. I hope my cards bring others even a portion of the joy that I feel creating them. #cre8yoursunshine☀️
