PATTERNED PAPER PERFECTION

I’m thrilled to join this month’s Simon Says Instagram challenge, featuring patterned paper as the star of the show! Rummaging through my stash, I fell in love with the stunning Damask Love Life’s a Party paper. This gorgeous paper was the perfect starting point for a special birthday card for my mom.

To make this card extra special, I combined several elements from several different companies. Let’s dive into the details!

Adding Interest to the Background

While the patterned paper was beautiful on its own, I wanted to add some texture and visual interest. I broke out my Swoosh Designer Die and stretched it to fit my A7 card, creating a unique background that complements the paper perfectly.

Blooming Beauty

The April Kiss Camellia Craft-a-Flower die is a favorite of mine, and I knew it would be the perfect addition to this card. The delicate flowers needed no embellishments, so I left them as is to shine in all their beauty.

Bringing it all Together

With a limited Distress Oxide collection, I was overjoyed to find that Speckled Egg was a perfect match for the paper! I colored some white cardstock with this lovely shade and die-cut leaves to add more detail. For the sentiment, I heat embossed “birthday love” on Sunflower cardstock, which complemented the paper beautifully.

The Finished Product

I’m absolutely delighted with how this card turned out, and I know my mom will feel the love on her special day. The combination of patterned paper, flowers, and sentiment creates a truly special birthday card that’s sure to bring a smile to her face.

Just over here trying to spread a little sunshine one card at a time. I'm fueled by Dr. Pepper, sarcasm and especially puns. I hope my cards bring others even a portion of the joy that I feel creating them. #cre8yoursunshine☀️
