BEST WAY TO SPREAD CHEER

A fun and uplifting card project

Hi and welcome! Today, I’m excited to share with you a fun and uplifting card project that I created using a brand new stamp set that I designed for Pajama Crafter Stamps. This project is perfect for anyone who wants to add a touch of cheer and positivity to someone’s day.

The Inspiration:

I was thrilled when Joy from Pajama Crafter Stamps asked me to design a cheerleader stamp set, and I couldn’t wait to get started! As a former high school cheerleader myself (a ridiculously long time ago), I had a blast bringing this fun and energetic theme to life.

With the cheerleader theme in mind, a pyramid formation immediately came to mind – it’s a classic! But I didn’t want to limit the stamp set to just one configuration. So, I designed each cheerleader as an individual stamp, which can be mixed and matched to create all sorts of scenes… or, of course, a pyramid!

The Project:

To create this card, I used the following materials:

  • Cheer You Up Stamps
  • (2) White cardstock panels 4″ x 5.25″
  • Black Cardstock folded to create an A2 card base: 4.25″ x 5.5″
  • Masking Sheets
  • Black Ink
  • Alcohol markers
  • Scissors / snips

Links to all of the supplies I used to make this project are below.

I started by stamping the bottom 3 cheerleaders onto the card panel then stamped them again on a masking sheet.

Next, I carefully cut (aka fussy cut, or as Joy likes to say… cussy cut) the cheerleader masks and placed them over the stamped images. I then added the next 2 cheerleaders onto my Misti platform making sure their feet were touching the shoulders of the base cheerleaders. I repeated this stamp and mask process, working from the bottom to the top of the pyramid. I stamped the sentiment and to add a little extra flair, I also stamped 2 megaphones and the flag banner.

I balanced my design by having the flag banner in the top left corner and the sentiment in the bottom right.

Once everything was masked I did some ink blending on the background, removed the masking and colored the cheerleaders using my Copic and Altenew alcohol markers.

The message on the card is a gentle reminder that we’re all in this together and that a little bit of cheer can go a long way.

Just over here trying to spread a little sunshine one card at a time. I'm fueled by Dr. Pepper, sarcasm and especially puns. I hope my cards bring others even a portion of the joy that I feel creating them. #cre8yoursunshine☀️
