TOOLS I CAN’T LIVE WITHOUT

Although I’ve only been crafting cards for a few years, I’ve already discovered the vast and overwhelming world of craft supplies. With so many options available, selecting the right materials can be a daunting task.

Here’s a list of a few I use on a daily basis:

1. Alcohol Markers: I have both the Copic brand as well as the Altenew brand in my collection. Both are great for coloring your stamped images but there is one other crucial supply you need for stamping…

2. A good black ink: This Memento ink is my absolute favorite for stamping. It does not smear when you color over it. It’s fabulous. MEMENTO TUXEDO BLACK INK

3. Scoring Board: I rely on my Scor-Buddy for creating precise center creases when crafting custom card bases. However, its versatility doesn’t stop there. This handy tool can be used in various ways, and a scored line can even serve as a decorative element, adding texture and visual interest to your card designs. SCOR-BUDDY

4. Paper Cutter: Since I started cardmaking, I’ve tried out several paper cutters, but this Swingline one has become my go-to favorite. Its ability to cut through multiple sheets of heavy cardstock at once saves me time and effort in my crafting process. SWINGLINE PAPER CUTTER

5. Stamping Platform: My stamping journey began with the Mini MISTI, but I’ve since upgraded to the larger size, which has become my preferred tool. To complement my MISTI, I also use the mouse pad insert, which I find to be a significant improvement over the paper, black foam insert, or sticky mat. PINK MISTI

6. Mini T-Square: Looking back, I can’t help but chuckle at the number of times I relied on eyeballing placements, only to end up with wonky sentiments or images. It was a frustrating but valuable learning experience that ultimately led me to appreciate the importance of precision tools in cardmaking. I definitely wish I purchased this mini t-square sooner! 7. Glue & Holder: I’m currently obsessed with the Bearly Art Original Precision Art Glue, and its perfect companion – the adorable cupcake glue holder! This dynamic duo has been a total game-changer for me. The precision glue delivers a smooth, controlled application, while the cupcake holder eliminates the hassle of cleaning out clogged glue tips! 8. Cutting Platform: The Big Shot is a valuable addition to my crafting arsenal, and its ability to cut multiple items simultaneously is a major time-saver. Although it does require a significant amount of desk space, the convenience and efficiency it provides make it worth it, in my opinion. BIG SHOT PLUS STARTER KIT

9. Logo Stamp: While not an essential tool, I adore my personal stamp for adding a touch of personality to my handmade cards. It not only signals to the recipient that they’re holding a one-of-a-kind, handmade creation, but also invites them to explore more of my work on my website. CUSTOM LOGO STAMP

I hope this helps someone out there ❤️

Just over here trying to spread a little sunshine one card at a time. I'm fueled by Dr. Pepper, sarcasm and especially puns. I hope my cards bring others even a portion of the joy that I feel creating them. #cre8yoursunshine☀️
