Yaaas, I was SO down for this week’s Freshly Made Sketches challenge! I’m OBSESSED with geometric design, and since I’ve been crushing it on getting Christmas cards done EARLY this year, it was a no-brainer to theme ’em up with this sketch.

CARD BASE: I cut a sheet of 8.5″ x 11″ Neenah Classic Crest Ultra Thick 110 LB Smooth Solar White Paper vertically down the center. I scored at 5.5″ to create my card base. I refer photos of top fold so I typically do this style unless I’m making a 5″ x 7″ (A7) card.
BACKGROUND MAGIC: I cut a sheet of 80 LB Neenah Classic Crest Solar White to 4″ x 5.25″. I prefer this weight for my card Layers. I spritzed a little bit of water on my cardstock before running it through my Big Shot with my Simon Says Stamp Twinkle Snowflakes embossing folder. Love the varying depths – SO pretty!
Spoiler alert: you will probably see this on a lot of my holiday cards this year.
COLORFUL PANELS: I used 3 coordi-tastic colors of Concord & 9th cardstock: Lakefront, Peacock, and Tidepool. Cut ’em to diff sizes (1.5″ x 1.75″, 1.75″ x 2.75″, 2.75″ x 1.5″), then ran ’em through my Big Shot with the Whimsy Stamps Slimline Sweater Embossing Folder.
SENTIMENT TIME: Heat embossed in white on my darkest cardstock using the Simon Says Stamp CZ Design Making Spirits Bright stamp set.
SNOWFLAKE SPARKLE: I diecut the snowflake out of matte silver cardstock using my Trinity Stamps Big Snowflake Cut & Foil Die Set. LOVE this set – makes a BIG statement and super versatile.
I popped everything together with glue + low-profile foam squares for some dimension without making the card too bulky for mailing!
