Hello, creative crew! Get ready for some frosty fun today because I’ve got a super sweet, interactive thank you card design that’s perfect for chasing away those lingering winter blues. It’s inspired by today’s weather here in Virginia and what I’m really hoping is our last snowfall of the season! Let’s dive in…
Instead of using the tag from this week’s sketch, I opted to use a pinecone from the Waffle Flower Snowcapped Pinecone Bundle. I was aiming for a simple, modern design with this card.
I started with a piece of 100# cardstock cut to: 8.5″ x 5.5″. As shown below, I scored at the 1.5″ and 5.75″ marks.
Next, I stenciled my patterns and pinecones. Don’t be afraid to mix and match patterns! By using a palette of soft, similar colors, you can ensure your final design looks beautifully detailed, not busy.
I added die-cut pinecones on the front panel for dimension, positioning the largest one to hang slightly over the edge. When I glued the left flap down, I made sure to leave this overhang free, creating a clever flap that holds the card closed.
Thanks for following along with my project today. You can find links to all the supplies I used below.
Come join the fun by visiting the Freshly Made Sketches blog! The challenge is open until Monday March 9th at 3pm EST.
See you again soon with more inspiration!
